I had a Savage model 12 in a few years back that was an extremely poor shooter which I ended up selling. That kind of turned me off of their rifles for quite a while.

A number of people told me I just happened to get a bad one and I should have sent it back, but what was done was done by then. That rifle has proven to be an exceptional shooter right out of the box.

My thoughts are they are no better or worse than any other quality manufacturer out there. I'd suggest getting behind one for a test drive if you can and see if you like it.
